Want to be Technical Writer in CFD

Dear All,

I am an automobile engineer & have total 6 years of experience in technical writing (Parts catalog, service manual, Operator manual, service bulletins etc. after market related literature)

Now I get a chance to work as a technical writer, writing content for CFD, so my query is how smooth this move will be, note that I have a very good hands on skill in CAD but only 10% skill in CAE.

For a long term carrier this will be smooth or not?
In future is there any scope for this profile?
Is is possible to become CFD analyst by working as a CFD writer for long time?

Your valuable suggestions will guide me further, so request to giude me better.
