Favourite Quotes/Sayings about CFD/Fluid Mechanics
My favourite has always been from Werner Heisenberg:
"When I meet God, I am going to ask him two questions: Why relativity? And why turbulence? I really believe he will have an answer for the first." I think back to that when I'm having a particularly bad time with results/my simulations. We are attempting to solve and model what seems to be the unsolvable, the very inner workings of nature itself. Turbulence, for all its 'randomness' is not quite as random as some may think. All things in life are cyclical, repetitive, symmetric. Turbulence may seem intimidating because it seems to be neither of those. Who knows how much we can learn though, especially with more powerful technology. |
