Transient laminar channel flow data

Hello ppl,

I am trying to do a transient laminar 2D channel viscous flow simulation to verify my NS code.

Does anyone know of such reference? Most of the info I found are for turbulence model.

Btw, for iniviscid channel wall with inlet velocity 1.0, does it mean that after e.g. 1 unit time, the fluid would 've advanced 1.0 unit? Hence upstream of it will all be velcoity 1.0, while downstream of the distance will all be zero. Is that correct?

or will some sort of perturbation cos downstream to have velocities as well?....

thanks
