Simulation of Two Phase Fluid Flow Problem Using Fluent 5.0

Hi,

I would like to simulate a laminar, incompressible, and steady state flow problem of two phases, air-water within a cavity of toroidal shaped geometry. Can it be simulated by using Fluent 5.0 ?

Thanks

Mohammad

Dear client,

Yes you can. If the flow is a stratified one with a free surface between air and water, you can use Volume-of-fluid (VOF) method in FLUENT 5. If it is a two-phase flow where air-water interafce is not clearly defined (e.g., blbbly flow), you can count on our mixture model (algebraic slip micture model) in FLUENT 5. Please take a look at the users; guide first. And if you have any question, please contact your support engineer at the nearest Fluent office.
