multigrid method

Hi! All.

Currently I have a 3D SIMPLE code based on staggered grids. Now I would modify it by implement multigrid method. Could you please suggest me some literature, which include clear and step by step algorithm for this?

Thanks a lot.

Re: multigrid method

Hi hawk,

I should have to do the same problem also(3D lid driven cavity) and now i have been trying for 2D lid driven cavity problem using finite volume method based on staggered grid by implementing multigrid method. i am using Full Approximation scheme(FAS) which can be applied for nonlinear problems but i am also struggling for implementing that method.

I had written the code by following the journal i.e., " Finite volume Multigrid prediction of laminar natural convection: Bench mark solutions" by M.Hortmann and M.Peric and G.Scheuerer, Int. J. for Numer. methods in fluids, vol 11, 189-207.,1990.

U said that u r having 3D SIMPLE code means what? i.e finite volume method or not?

Better we can contact each other from now and tell me, in which method u r trying now and where r u from?.......tell me ur progress regarding ur method?

Advanced Thanks

There is a book by William L. Briggs, titled: "A Multigrid Tutorial". Also the following link might be helpful:

By the way, I was wondering if I could have your 3D SIMPLE code. My email address is:

Thanks.
