Can any body please help me how to specify inlet boundary condition for turbulent flow. Because it is asking for parameters like turblence reference velocity, % mean velocity, % hydraulic diameter, turbulence kinetic energy, turbulence dissipation rate.

The followings are what the CFX code is doing;
TEin=1.5*(0.037*Vin)**2, EDin=TEin**1.5/(0.3*D) where TEin is the turbulent kinetic energy at inlet, EDin is its dissipation rate at inlet, Vin is the inlet velocity and D is the inlet length scale such as the hydraulic diameter. The value 0.037 (3.7%) is the turbulence intensity and you can change it. I hope this helps. Good luck, Halim |
