how calculate jacobian matrix?

hi here. i am a beginner on CVM(control volume method). i'd like to know jacobian maxtrix. the Euler equaiton is

dQ/dt + dE/dx + dF/dy = 0.

how can i calculate jacobian matrix?

jacobian=dE/dQ

Hello Lee Juhee!

First of all, derivation of analytical expressions for derivatives of dF/dQ type is straightforward and can be easily explained and performed, but it is rather tedious work.

If you are interested only in the final result, I can send you programs written in C language for testing not only Jacobians but also their (very useful) diagonalizing transformations ([A]=dF/dQ=[1/S]{L}[S], etc. ) for Jacobians for euler (inviscid) terms in 1D, 2D and 3d.

These codes contains all the formulae you need.

You can find the Jacobian Matrices for both viscous and invicid fluxes in the appendix of T.J.Chung and Blazek Textbooks.
