Default Analytical solution for lid driven cavity

Hello,

I used google the whole day, but I can't find a numerical solution to a 2D LDC-Problem. I need it to compute a pressure field to test my very simple NS-solver.

Ghia did a good paper about this subject -it is an old paper. As well as more recent paper by Gupta. Also, the Wiki in here has this problem with a solution. The best way to check your NS-solver would be via Ghia's paper by checking the velocities at different Reynolds numbers v's Ghia's answers.

You mean this one?

Ghia, Ghia, and Shin (1982), "High-Re solutions for incompressible flow using the Navier-Stokes equations and a multigrid method", Journal of Computational Physics, Vol. 48, pp. 387-411.

Has anybody got an idea where I can get this paper?

that is the paper. You will have to request it from somewhere. If you are in school or have a friend at a university or near a university library you might be able to find it.

Gupta's paper is nice too. His is only a year old.

Gupta's paper is nice for the velocity graphs - which make for an easy comparison.

Ghia's paper actually includes tabulated data. I am primarily to blame for the wiki article, and I have some data (from Fluent calculations) that I will be adding as soon as I get time (maybe next week). It is not quite the same as comparing to results in the literature, though.

Ghia's paper is long. I still recommend Gupta's paper for verification of code.

There are two related Matlab codes on the CFD-online wiki source code archive - educational (select wiki at the top of this page) which agree with Ghia et al and Botella & Peyret and Bruneau & Saad. You can run one of these codes to get computational results for comparison.
