CFD Survey extended. Free software.
CFD Survey

We are planning to put a flow solver on the market and are doing a customer survey. We are planning to customize the software for various applications and want to see what is of most interest. A web page giving access to a free hybrid grid generator controlled by a GUI plus related source code and a CFD screen saver will be made available to anyone who fills out the survey with care and sends it to before January 18.

What is your interest in CFD? Code developer □ Professional user □ Inexperienced user □ Need services:______________________________________

What is your area? Aero □ Auto □ Petro □ Chem □ Ventilation □ Academic □ Other:____________________________________________ __

What type of flow types are most interest to you? Compressible gas □ Incompressible (low-speed) gas □ Liquids □ Other:____________________________________

Which of the following flow regimes are of most interest to you? Inviscid (Euler) gas □ Laminar (Navier Stokes) □ Turbulent □ Other:__________________________________

What kind of solid geometry involving 2D fluid flow is of most interest? Not □ Can be built from modified circles, rectangles, triangles □ Other__________________________________

What kind of solid geometry involving 3D fluid flow is of most interest? Not □ Built from modified spheres, blocks, cones, cylinders □ Other_________________________________

What kind of chemistry is of most interest? Not □ Simple chemistry □ Complex chemistry □ Other:________________________________

A number of vendors provide codes tailored to specialized applications that are relatively simple to use. If applicable, please describe a specialized application that is of interest to you.

If a vendor already supplies this product what is it called? Please indicate how the product be improved. Otherwise please add any comments or suggestions you may have about CFD applications or vendors.

CFD survey now completed
Thank you to all who responded to the survey which is now complete. It has given me excellent information on what features and capabilities the code should have. I will be sending the promised information to all survey respondents. Please allow me a month to send the information due to unforeseen circumstances. If any respondent does not want me to send out the information, please let me know.

I will be announcing my commercial site in a few months as a news item. No spam will be sent out to respondents as some have suggested.
