KIVA - tinvrt overflow

I am trying to simulate the scavenging of a 2stroke diesel engine. However, my simulation runs for only few ca degrees and I obtain the error message: tinvrt overflow... or temperature overflow... or 50 temperature iterations..

The program cuts down the timestep several times, but it doesn't help. It stops.

When I try to follow the reason I notice that the sie (specific internal energy) becomes negative. Is this a normal behaviour? How could I cure it? Should I look for the reason in the bad mesh quality?

I frequently get into that problem either (I am simulating ad HSDI engine with HCCI operation). The output file always suggested cutting dti but seems not working for me either. While I am not sure if this is okay, I frequently run the simulation with increased tcut and tcute for several crank angles and then reverting them back to bypass the crashing point. This seems always working for me.
