Grid generation for FORTRAN source is difficult and boring works.

What is the best way to avoid these tedious tasks?

well, depending on your application, u can use either freeware or commercial grid generator, right? of course, one thing to do is to write a subroutine to read in the pts/nodes etc.

Can you advise me the examples of the usage of the commercial code and file format?

There's a bunch of meshers available (including free and open source). Take a look in http://www-users.informatik.rwth-aac.../software.html or http://www.andrew.cmu.edu/user/sowen/softsurv.html

Some of them can be used as a library and there are examples about how to call from other languages.
