Finite element method applied to external flows
I am facing some difficulties while simulating external flows (flow past circular & square cylinders) using FEM.
The solution algorithm used is the Eulerian velocity correction approach.
The difficulty i am facing is that the lift and drag coefficient plots, with respect to time, experiences low amplitude and high frequency wiggles. It seems to be due to the pressure contribution to the aforesaid coefficients.
if anyone could give me some insight on how to diffuse this problem, it would be very helpful
