Hello,
Could anyone explain to me what a long time exposure (and short time exposure) schlieren means in the context of an inert flow and most expecially in a combusting premixed flame. Also, does anyone know how to use Fieldview to create Sclieren images? Thanks. |

Schlieren images are obtained by displaying the magnitude of the vector gradient of the density.

Although strictly this is only true for a two-dimensional flow (in 3D the real Schlieren image is an integration through the flow in the viewing direction).
