Species (molecular) properties in fully turbulent flow

Hi all,

I would just like to hear about you opinion on how important it is to specify molecular properties (specific heat, thermal conductivity and viscosity) in fully turbulent flow when using eddy-viscosity (RANS) models.

In my opinion, thermal conductivity and viscosity have little importance, as the turbulent values exceed the molecular properties a multiple times.

Specific heat, however, still remains important, as the turbulent mixing does not primarily affect the heating rate (although eddy dissipation heats the fluid).

Thanks for your comments.
