Hi,
Does anyone know what methods can be used in finding the analytical solution of Euler equations? Can the method of Characteristics be used and how? Any good references would be appreciated. Thanks! |

Hi Hooman,
The method of characteristics can be used for solving Euler equations(at least in some cases), but it may be complicated. Rather, you can use Roache's method of manufactured solution (dated 1998), in which you prescribe a solution field and add sources and adequate BCs, so it fulfils all your equations. Google for this method - it is very effective for generating exact solutions for code verification. Good luck!
