Can you recommend some places to study CFD?

I am a graduate student in Department of Space Propulsion, School of Astronautics, BeiHang University, China. I have done some projects under the guidance of my tutor. However, I found that when we perform flow simulation, we usually use a commercial CFD code (such as FLUENT). I am not satisfied with just doing these kind of projects. I hope to do some in-depth research in CFD, not just using commercial code. I hope to go abroad to study for doctorate's degree and fulfill my hope. Where should I go to? Can you recommend some places? Thank you very much.

Hi,

I am not sure if I understood correctly what you meant by "research in CFD", because this may cover very wide areas/topics. Could you be more specific about your dreams? maybe you can get some ideas from http://ecfd.nlr.nl , and if you find something interesting there please let me know through http://ecfd.nlr.nl/index.php/contact-us-now

Best regards,
Bambang

I'm master student of ETH(swiss federal institute of technology). The answer to your question depends on what work you want to do in the future and your expectation. I know the universities which are top at fluid dynamics or CFD for turbo machinery. The answer still depends on what you want to specialize in. You can join my QQ 598570740.

If you are able to complete Masters from BUAA u can apply for the Phd in European universities e.g; University of Manchester (UMIST) , KTH Royal institute of Technology, or in German universities and can join the research groups working on advanced CFD and modern techniques in computational mechanics.
