developed pipe flow

In a fully developed pipe flow, why does added rotation (for a fixed mass flux) reduce the pressure drop?

Re: developed pipe flow

is it because it results in a laminarisation of the flow???

Re: developed pipe flow

U can say that...It's mainly becos of change in frequency (Reduction) of sweeps, Ejection in the near wall region..these mechanisms contribute to friction in wall bounded flow.
