Could someone explain what means Non-Isotropic Characteristic of the Turbulence?

If the statistical average of the flow data is invariant wrt translation,rotation or reflection the turbulence is isotropic.Mathematically the two point coorelation is independent of location.Any classical book on turbulence will give you detailed description to the idea of isotropy.
