Is there any literature about inlet perturbation generation method?I intend to add some random perturbation to the shear layer of a jet and investigate how these perturbations evolves in space and time. Any book or paper will do.

A thought... Why not add 'well defined' perturbation signals to your flow in preference to 'random' - eg. square-wave pulse, triangular spike, & so on. Look at consistently varying certain key parameters eg. pulse amplitude, pulse duration, pulses per second. Then repeat the exercise with increasing jet velocity. You are bound to end up with some extremely interesting results.
Turn off the convection-stabilisation. Enjoy... diaw... |

Well,I think you may do some worke on the theory of stability of the flow if could.Or, you may leran about stability of flow from some text and I think you may have some ideals.

Check towards turbulent DNS/LES papers. It is sometimes used flow perturbations. Otherwise, they initialise with prescribed turbulent fields but it is not of interest for you.

Try this one - i use it and it works nicely
"A digital filter based generation of inflow data for spatially developing direct numerical or large eddy simulations" - M. Klein, A. Sadiki, J. Janicka Journal of Computational Physics 186 (2003) 652â€"665 I have a pdf version of the paper, if you don't have access to it. |
