numerical modelling of non newtonian fluid (blood)

hi everybody... iam interested in numerical modelling of non newtonian fluid, blood in particular.Writing a Finite volume code for time independent isothermal incompressible blood flow....completed 1D and now started in 2D..basically writing a slover...not concentrating in forming grid as of now.Now my doubt is how ll u derive the shear strain tensor derivatives fm the flow in FVM so tht i can incorporate tht in viscosity models...

Waiting for ur kind help.... thanks

Hi !! Go thru the following article..
