Hi,

I'm new to CFD (just started a course this semester called Numerical methods in computational dynamics) so I'm still on a basic level. It's time for my exam soon, and I was just wondering if you guys have any tips on where I can find old exams or links to problems that I can try to solve myself (would be really nice if there's solutions too).

Thank you!

Anderson's book "Computational Fluid Mechanics; The Basics with Applications" has many examples

You want to solve CFD problems by hand calcualtion. Refer An-Introduction-to-Computational-Fluid-Dynamics-H-Versteeg

for many CFD man idea, Computational Fluid Dynamics by Jach P.Holman is the best book for basic user of cfd.

Hi Everyone,

I am new to ANSYS/FLUENT and trying to run a simulation of Natural Convection from vertical wall with constant temperature, but solution is not converging with default values of monitors. All other monitors are ok except continuity i think. Can anyone suggest me something, even i am not getting any message or anything. Solution is going smoothly and then stabilize at one value but not converging even after 10000 iterations.

you told about the problem, but need the setup details to proceed further......is it a closed domain and transient.
# check the gravity direection
# check ref density

Two vertical and parallel plates. One is heating wall at constant temp and other adiabatic means zero heat flux with pressure inlet and outlet boundaries.Basically buoyancy driven flow.I started running from 400k to above and now it is converging. But i am not seeing velocity profile as expected.
