In most books on fluid dynamics that I have referred to, the boundary layer equations have been derived in non dimensional form and the reductions are obtained using an order of magnitude analysis.. Though mathematically consistent, these methods are difficult to digest for me... I would like to arrive at the same equations by direct logical arguments from physics of the boundary layer approximation... Can anyone help me in this regard??

I think you can read some book about boundary layer theory that adopts perturbation in dimensional form.
