dynamic mode decomposition
Hi there,
I am going to start learning dynamic mode decomposition (DMD) and wrtie a code for it to further analyze my simulation dada and do better post-processing. Does any one have a suggestion for me how to start or any comment? Thank you very much. |
Have you got a working code?
Are you also investigating 3D data or only 2D data with your tool? How do you visualize the modes of the 3D field? |
dynamic mode decomposition
Hi all,
I can recommend http://www.dmdbook.com/ The site provides matlab code without having to buy the book. If you are very determined, the book is a good idea as well. It has helped me a lot to start with DMD, which I used on turbomachine flow fields. What are you guys using DMD for? :) |
Yes this DMD book is a good introduction.
There is also a Python Code available. https://github.com/mathLab/PyDMD/ I am going to use DMD to visualize vortex systems in 3D mixing flows. Maybe also to filter a dominant frequency of a 1D time signal. How about you? |
Thanks for the link to the python code! I see there is not only standard DMD but also several other versions. Great! I use DMD to extract and visualize asynchronous modes in the 2D flow field of a radial fan.
I once tried to do 3D visualization using ParaView, but have not persued it. |

Also do I need to do the post process in tecolot ? Which or how many code file do I need to write ? Or could you help me with your codes ? Thanks in advance |
