Stability Analysis

I have already developed a code for the incompressible flow simulation of a bluff-body. It is working fine. Now I like to incorporate the Stability Analysis of the flow depending upon the Reynolds Number. I have got some idea that the analysis is related to eigenvalues. But I have no idea how to relate them. Can anyone give me any idea regarding the numerical simulation of stability anlysis?
