Turbulence Model
Hi everybody,
This might be a very general question, but if you give me some tips, that would be a great help. I have a CFD code which has a very simple turbulence model (algebraic). My task is to add a 2-eg k-e or k-w SST model to the code. I am not a CFD expert but I do know the base of turbulence, turbulence models, and finite volume method. What is the best way to do this? Where would the starting point be? I appreciate any advice that you give me from your experience. Thank you very much. Helen |

I am not an expert either.
CFD usually includes conservation of mass, three N-S equations, turbulence equations, and other equations such as energy equations. Every equation is discretized into algebraic equations. I would say you should find the discretized turbulent equation, and replace with your own discretized turbulent equations. So you can first discretize your turbulence equations. |

Since you already have a base code with you, try to understand it completely. See how the code keeps track of number of equations it is solving. Adding something to a code is easier than starting from scratch.
