Periodic Boundary Condition for Meandering Channel

Dear All,

I am trying to simulate laminar flow (steady, incompressible) passing through meandering/ sinusoidal channel. For the same I am using body fitted orthogonal curvilinear grid. The physical domain is mapped into the computational domain. The grid is colocated and SIMPLE algorithm is used for pressure velocity coupling (peric's code).

I start my simulation with plug flow inlet b.c.. After first simulation for one meander (one wavelength), I take the exit conditions (u,v,w,p) of previous iteration as next simulation's inlet b.c.

My problem is I get the effect of curvature during the first simulation only, i.e. for plug flow inlet b.c.. After first simulation, I don't get this effect. I tried to simulation the two meanders or two wavelengths and surprisingly I get the effect, but this is not the efficient way of simulation.

I will be very thankful for your valuable comments on why I don't get the effect of curvature while using the periodic b.c..
