Turbulence Models

I would like opinions from people who use the CFD software packages about pros and cons of using a particular package for turbulence modeling.

Cheers

Re: Turbulence Models

Well here is a very good question. What is pro and cons of using this or that model in a particular package.

The turbulence model is almost the same in all commercial packs. So the pros and cons of a turbulence model restricts to the pack that you are using. Concerning the models it depends on what are you modelling and what is your philosophy concerning the modelling.

In my particular opnion I prefer the FLUENT pack, I feel it more suitable for the convergence and to the manipulation of the internal vars, that are write in C++. But also the CFX has enormous advantages, specially with turbo machinery.

I heard that the Star CD is very good for the combustion modelling, but I know don't know it.
