chosing Abaqus cfd?
Hello, i am not very much into cfd and expecially commercial cfd software.
but now, I have a problem to solve. What I would like to ask you, if abaqus cfd, which is available for me, is the right software for solving this. By right software I mean if it is possible to do it using abaqus cfd. To determine if it is possible, I need to know, if the following two scenarios can be implemented: 1) A rigid body falling into water. What I wonder about is: all I have done in cfd so far is initiating a flow, which follows or meets a defined geometry - initiating by defining for example pressure conditions at a certain boundary. What about "still" water, that "waits" for something falling into it...can issues like surface tension and the reaction of the water on being "disturbed" by a rigid body falling into it (talking about splashing behaviour..) correctly be modelled/calculated in abaqus? 2) What if it is not a rigid body, but a body that can be deformed. As I understand, this is a multiphysics issue. Can the deformation of the body, which depend on the force acting on the body when having contact with the water surface, handled with abaqus? best regards, Denny |
