Quasi-2D Mesh Requirements

Hi everyone,

I'm working with a NACA profile to simulate the flow over an airfoil.

It can be done with a two-dimensional case, but the turbulence models didn't work so well for that, so I decided to run the case with a three-dimensional geometry, where the width is represented by Z-axis.

My entire domain is about 1 meter length.

I extruded the sketch only for 0.001 m.

Even so, the results are not good enough.

I want know if the thickness of my geometry is important in this case.

I set symmetry plane conditions for the perpendicular planes to Z-axis, so wall proximity wouldn't affect the flow.

There's only two nodes in the Z-direction, that is, there's only two nodes in the mesh on the left, right, top and bottom sides of my template. Is that a problem? Do I need more nodes? Is this a limiting factor for my template?

Thks. Best regards.
