Hallo forum,

in the wiki category of this website there are articles concerning plenty models in which I get lost. Background on my project: study on the dynamic behaviour and thermal behaviour of a droplet gently impacting upon a patially heated solid surface. As a tyro, I'd like to whether the so-called k-epsilon model suffices my application.

Any tip is appreciated.

this is the most validated and simple model to simuilate turbulence. First you can try with this . After getting the trend , you can go for some other models.

Thanks for your reply. Could you let me know what could be some other models, just a couple of instances? thanks in advance.

Hi

Is your flow turbulent ? I do not think "a droplet gently impacting upon a patially heated solid surface" is in this flow regime.

Anyway, you can search more info on what has been done on the subject using classical search engines such as http://www.scirus.com/srsapp/ , google, or http://citeseer.ist.psu.edu/

Regards

actually, it is. Some papers present their model solving Navier-Stokes equations coupled with general heat conduction to describe such phenomenon. I made use a commercial package, aber have no idea what kind of model it exploits. At that rate, I write this post. anyway, thanks for your reply.
