Question Geometry vs flow direction

Hello,

I'm new to CFD.

I have the following question:

Is the flow direction dictated by the geometry you have generated?

For instance, if you have generated a vertical circular pipe will the flow be automatically vertical (either upward or downward) on the simulator? Or it depends if you consider gravity?

Sorry for what may seem like a stupid question and thank you in advance for your help,

I take it you're interested in an internal flow, right?
The flow in the pipe will be driven by a pressure difference. Now whether the flow goes up or down in your pipe, it depends on this pressure difference. If the fluid is not a gas but a liquid, you need to consider body forces too.
