coordinate transformation and flux splitting

Hi,

I am relatively new to CFD. Till now, I have been working on cartesian grids. But, now I am extending it to generalized coordinates. Though the flux calculations are striaght forward with the transformations, I am a bit confused with the identification of wavespeeds and relevant information required for flux splitting. In short, when I transform a equation

dU/dT + dF/dX + dG/dY = Q

to

dU*/dT + dF*/dEps + dG*/dGamma = Q

how do I calculate wave speeds for F* and G*? Should I calculate the eigen values for the transformed equation?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Compute the eigenvalues of the flux Jacobians.

Re: coordinate transformation and flux splitting

So, it is the eigen value of the transformed flux jacobian. The corresponding wavespeeds will be used to formulate the scheme in the computational space. Please correct me if I am wrong.
