Model flow as Laplace flow
Hi,
May I ask which commercial softwares provide the option to model flow as Laplace flow? |
Hi Anna,
Are you referring to potential flow theory? Where the flow is assumed inviscid, incompressible and irrotational and the Navier-Stokes equations are then reduced to the Laplace equation? If so, I believe ANSYS AQWA and WAMIT may be suitable commercial solvers. Also, you may want to have a look at SeaFEM. Sorry if I misinterpreted your question! Good luck, Dave |

Hi Meimei,
Yeah, I think your referring to potential flow: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Potential_flow The only commercial potential flow solvers that I have come across are ANSYS AQWA and WAMIT which are designed for marine/naval applications. I'm not aware of a commercial solver for aerodynamics applications. There is a solver called potentialFoam available in OpenFOAM though. Good luck, Dave |
