Can anybody give the information about CFD and visualization market size and annual growth (worldwide and in the US)? I can't find it in the net. There was the same subject in this forum in 1998. But what is about 2006-2007? Thanks beforehand.

I recommend you this article from Carl Bass the CEO of Autodesk.
http://www.mcadonline.com/index.php?...=356&Itemid=73 CFD is like the high-end CAD market: slow but sustainable growth. The CEO of a CFD/CAE company who over predict growth does not understand the market. CFD is not a market that can afford an infrastucture of expensive directors that have poor knowledge of the product: they are usually useless a88lickers. Below is good quote: "Other CAD giants like Dassault Systemes and UGS have achieved their status by selling high-cost CAD seats to elite Aerospace and Automotive companies. As the high-end CAD market shows small and steady growth, the real hot market is SMB (Small to Medium sized Businesses), which is Autodesk's home territory. As the high-end vendors work out how to compete in this SMB space, Autodesk has set it sights in grabbing some of the high-end for itself." |
