Hello,Im modeling a 2D NACA65A210 airfoil using GAMBIT and FLUENT....

My flow speed is subsonic, Mach 0.6 @0ft. I was wondering as experts on CFD your opinions on how i would go about selecting the best model. I have tried a number of variations, however i'm not sure what the 'official' model is for my conditions. Various sources tell me various models.

i.e:

1) As my flow is subsonic, what should my vicous model be?

2) Should the energy equation be on or off?

3) Should my solver be coupled or segregated?

4) What discretization should i use (i.e pressure presto!?, momentum 2nd or 1st order?

I hope you can help me out! Cheers, Julian.

Turbulent, viscous, coupled, with energy equation (the physics demand it) turned on.

Thanks mate. Thats what my research was pointing to but i was unsure. I think im going to go with a k-epsilon viscous model.

As you can probably tell im new to CFD, and i'm learning it blind, with my only help being a CFD textbook, an aerodynamics textbook, and this forum- so help is much appreciated!

Ok and at risk of looking like an idiot, for the discretization scheme, for flow, Turbulance Kinetic Energy, and Dissipation Rate, should i use 1st order upwind or 2nd order upwind?

Cheers in advance. J

I would use the second-order upwind.
