Regarding simulation of 360 degree geometry
Hii guys,
I am trying to mesh 360 degree geometry of a combustor but due to compexities involved in that I am not able to mesh it with required quality.I have meshed the 20 degree sector with required quality so is there any option by which I can rotate this 20 degree sector mesh to get complete 360 degree mesh. Thank you in advance |
can you tell me which software are you using?

Hii,
I am using ICEM CFD and unstructured mesh for the mesh generation |
Hi prasanna,
I dont have any experience on ICEM CFD. Try posting it in ansys meshing forum, you may get an answer. I have been using GridPro, which is a structured grid generation software, where it has an option to mesh a sector of the grid and generate the 360 degree grid. If it is not very urgent, you can try it out. |
Why do you need to get the complete grid? cant you use the periodic boundary conditions for the simulation?

ICEM CFD Periodic Meshing
Hi prasanna,
Creating mesh for a sector of geometry and rotating it to get a complete 360deg mesh, is very much possible in ICEM CFD. I am assuming you have confirmed that the geometry is rotationally periodic for 20 deg, but the flow physics is not periodic. Make sure you do the following steps:

I was trying to do so but ting the mesh whenafter computing the mesh when I am looking for periodic problems mesh it shows that no periodicity has been defined in the mesh so please help in this respect
