Default mesh adaptivity to solution

Pardon if this topic has been discussed earlier of which I wasn't involved.

Regarding mesh/cells auto-adapting to flow solution e.g. in the sublayer as well as log-law and wake regions, could anyone list to me all the commercial softwares that have such feature? My intention is auto-optimization of the geometry or surface to meet design criteria. So, let's say when an optimization algorithm modifies a surface, how does the code "see" this and performs necessary refinement/adjustment to cells in the said regions?
