Diffuser pressure drop optimization

Hi
I would like to optimize a diffuser in a pipeline in order to minimize pressure drop due to flow separation. As far as numerical studies are concerned, we all know Eddy-viscosity models do not accurately predict such type of flows with separation. On the other hand LES/DNS is still quite expensive to do optimization. Can somebody suggest recent numerical and/or experimental studies in this direction? The standard text books of fluid mechanics do not handle this topic very well. In fact, I want to update myself with the State of the art (both experimental and numerical) in this field before considering a few designs for the optimization. Any type of input (reference etc.) in this regard will deeply be appreciated. thanks in advance |
