Default Linearization of time dependent source variable

I have the following source term Variable : x

G = (x)^n + (dx/dt)

With no transient term, i am able to work easily with dG/dx. But with transient data inside, my contribution to diagonal can potentially oscillate from + to -.

Is there a way to linearize time dependent variables?
