I'm dealing with two-phase spray simulation and I'm searching for a wall film model to insert via subroutine Fortran in CFD code. What's the state of art in this kind of simulatione. Thanks, Enrico.

hi enrico,

we worked on this problem for several years in the framework of nuclear savety. we have very sophisticated models in the CATHARE code, You can find usefull information in the proceedings of the NURETH 8 conference, held in koyoto in octobre 97

hope it helps

Hi Enrico,

you might want to have a look at what AVL's FIRE code can do:

http://www.avl.com/html/296.htm

I am an independant user of CFD and have NO experience with the code, but I did see some impressive industrial work which was presented at the CFD99 conference in Halifax this year.

Regards,

Duane

Thanks for the kind words, Doug. In addition to being heavily involved in the modeling of wall fuel films in engines, we are doing a lot of work these days with Eulerian multiphase flow modeling. (This is the work I presented at CFD99 in Halifax.) The first release of N-phase Eulerian multiphase will be in SWIFT 2.0 to be released early next year. We have already applied the code internally to problems including: - fuel injector cavitation - fuel tank filling - water films on vehicles - crankcase filling

Please contact your local AVL representative (or me directly) if you are interested in more information.

Regards,

Philip Stephenson Director, Product Management Computational Fluid Dynamics AVL Advanced Simulation Technologies.
