hi,
i wish to simulate a solid cold steel body at room temperature to move into air at 1300 K and then know the heat transfer and final temperature of solid which shall heat up due to radiation. i tried doing it in cfx but i cannot do both the movement and the heat transfer problems together as: 1) the immersed body domain does not ave material properties or heat transfer 2) the solid domain does not move through the fluid mesh in fluent the solid mesh just crosses the air mesh without effecting it an any manner and the air just remains stationary. can anyone please suggest a method to do this |

i am also having the same problem. I am trying to obtain heat transfer for a moving plate in a fluid domain but the plate is not moving in the fluid. also tried the case of fluid flow over a flat surface where the flat surface has to be in motion but it is not moving. rather contact region is created at the interface. can somebody help!

Works in Star-CCM+ with Overset Mesh.
Might be possible in CFX, dunno. |
