Overture Installation for Oceanwave3d

Hi there,

I'm very new to linux and CFD and I am trying to install the overture based software OceanWave3D (http://www.sdwed.civil.aau.dk/Software/). I have been following these instructions , http://mabouali.wordpress.com/2012/0...talled-ubuntu/, to install overture however when I try to install overture and type the "make" command I get this error at the end of the compiling,

make[1]: *** [DataBase_date] Error 1
make[1]: Leaving directory `/home/andrew/Downloads/Overture.v25/DataBase'
make: *** [all] Error 2

I believe I've installed all the other programs correctly and amended the 'defenv' file accordingly. Can anyone help me with this error? I've probably left out some information that is needed to solve this.

Many thanks,

Andrew

Normally if your version of A++ and P++ is not compatible, you can get such error (Database for Overture)

Unless you explain a bit more, it's tough to say something else.
Please check again if you have the proper A++and P++ package installed (specially A++ unless you are actually using P++)

Thanks for the reply,

I haven't installed P++ so I am just using A++. How would I check if A++ is installed correctly? I just followed the instructions on the link in my original post.

As far I remember, overture's official website used to distribute a package of A++ with every version.

In any case, as long as you get database error, you can more-or-less conclude that there's a problem with your A++ library..(it is the database for Overture as you can already understand).

Try to re-install A++ in case you need

PS: I used CENT-OS, so if there is some typical Ubuntu problem, I cant be of any help...apologies :s

Thanks for your help, the directory for the environmental variables for A++ in the defenv file was slightly wrong and it has now compiled.
