I am trying to simulate the Vortex Induced Vibrations using Fluid Structure Interactions using FLUENT or CFX. The flow is predominantly LIQUID FLOW with only 2-3% vapor. So, flow will be bubbly flow (vapor bubbles dispersed in fluid). The flow upstream and downstream of the valve shows that vapor phase changes from 2% to 3%. So, I plan to model this as a Single phase flow since the vapor phase fraction is very low. Will this be a fair assumption?
2. What role vapor bubbles can play in vortex shredding? 3. What turbulence model should be used? LES or RANS? 4. CFX or FLUENT is better fro FSI simulations? |
