MSC doing CFD?
 

Hello

I would like to know what is fluidconnection. It seems that MSC software bought the company and is now entering the CFD market.

Is there anybody knowing what this can do? I never heard of it before.

Dear too-toon,

Be careful, and try to read between the lines in the press release. They "claim" to be able to connect to "any" CFD solver (OpenCFD), but I cannot see which of the mainstream CFD solvers (FLUENT, CFX, STAR-CD) they can connect to and no mention which solver technology they (plan to) use. Sounds like there is no solver behind it.

Well fluidConnection is not a CFD solver..u need a different solver to complete the CFD process... mostly they use AcuSolve. It is a different approach to CFD.. called SBD(simulation Based Design).. can read about this on net... basic idea is to launch FluidConnection from inside a CAD tool and tell what mesh u want and specify all the conditions on mesh and physics.. then it automatically creates the mesh and sets the case in Acusolve.. then u have to run that case in Acusolve to get the final results..
