What is order of improtance and ranking of the following two journals in computational engineering comunity (give your opinion)?

1. Computer Methods in Applied Mechanics and Engineering. Elsevier (CMAME)

2. International Journal for Numerical Methods in Engineering (IJNME)

Is impact factor a good measue?

I have heard from people that impact factor is a good measure of the journals.

Where can I find a list with the impact factor of each available journal on aero and fluid dynamics?

I suppose then that the Annual Review of Fluid Dynamics is the one with the highest impact factor.

I didn't find any other on fluids on top of that one.

If you are an academic or/and collaborate a lot with academic people, the impact factor is certainly to be considered.

If you are more on applied staff (which is likely to happen, CFD is an applied science on most of its aspects), it is not sure. On some of my contracts, publications with high Impact Factor did not have any impact on my collaborators. Impact Factor is only for academic by academic.

John, CMAME is more theoretical and IJNME is more application oriented, although this issue is weakened recently, but this attitude is still present, so CMAME has more original contributions.

Several conditions effect on IF such as: 1) ease of access, 2) editorial review period and 3) quality.

when factor 1 and 2 are almost the same IF is a good measure to judge (e.g. open access journals have larger IF in contrast to the other alternatives due to ease of access).
