It should depend on the units of your density field and mesh coordinates.

I use the Unit kg/m^3 for the density, and Cartesian coordinate system. |

The gradient dimension is going to be (units of density)/(units of length). As nobody said - it depends on the units you are using. A cartesian grid system could have length units of meters, inches or parsecs. You should be able to figure this out.
