Hi,
I understand that turbulent structures from heavily separated flow over high AOA airfoil flow are sources for noise. My scope of understanding on aero-acoustics is very limited but I do have experience with the few turbulent models I've mentioned here. I wish to understand what aspects of turbulent flows I have to focus on to obtain an accurate prediction of the pressure fluctuations that attribute acoustic noise. Does this entail the correct prediction of Reynolds stresses? - I've read papers (the LESfoil project with comparison to ONERA wind tunnel results for example) on the high resolution grid requirements of LES and even DES to capture accurate Reynolds Stresses. Is the vortex shedding cycle also related to the Reynolds stresses? Cheers swesoe |
