Does the LES filter function is depend upon the numerical scheme or on the size of the filter. Some places when fourth order finite difference method was used, the filter width is taken twice of the cell size they have used filter function like
phi_bar_(i)= 1/4 phi_(i-1)+1/2 phi_(i)+1/4 phi_(i+1) Now in the case of explicit filtering for fixed filter size for second order numerical scheme, if the filter is taken four or eight times of the cell size, what will be the filter function? |
