Hi, I am working in Kiva 3v and i am working with Hydrogen combustion modeling in Kiva 3v.My problem is the instant i give spark, pressure is rising very rapidly only for 1 or 2 degree change in crank angle, which is not at all in possible actual case. can anybody suggest how to reduce this steep pressure rise i.e.what parameter i have adjust to change this?

Thanks in advance for your help...

Hi, I am also working with hydrogen combustion in internal combustion engines. What you can do is to reduce the computational time step, for example 0.1 crank angle, when the combustion starts and for the whole combustion period. When this is over, you can set again the time step to higher values, for example 1 crank angle etc. Hope this works

Yes! That is very much possible, the properties of Hydrogen decides the rate of burning, and you know that Hydrogen is highly explosive.

One thing you can try. give very less hydrogen per one air unit. Swirl and Swish also you have to adjust.

i had tried with different swirl ratios but i am not getting the reduction in peak pressure rise. that it is when the combustion starts at some instant the pressure will raise from 20 bar to 55 bar only for one degree change in crank angle. if possible suggest me any other parameters which i have to adjust in KIVA 3v
