Hi..

I simulated a 1D inviscid normal shock for M = 2, and the jumps across density and pressure were 2.667 and 4.5 (similar to what we get from normal table data).

Then i added the viscous terms to the governing equations i.e. did a viscous 1D simulations and the jumps in pressure and density across the shock are higher.

can u help me for whats the reason for it??

you did some error, there is no theoretical reason to get a different jump...solving the shock layer gives the same asymptotic solution in the inviscid zones
